Goal:
The California Teachers Association and the African American Caucus recognizes the shortage of African American Teachers in California. The goal of the scholarship is to encourage African American students to become teachers.
Purpose:
In 1991, the African American Caucus established the Lois M. Tinson Scholarship to aid African Americans in preparing for teaching careers in public education.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible, an applicant must be pursuing a teaching career in public education and be of African American descent.
